About Eric
Eric Quint joined 3M as Chief Design Officer in 2013, following a distinguished career at Royal Philips Electronics, where he most recently led the Global Design Management and Consulting practice as Vice President, Philips Design. As Chief Design Officer, Quint oversees 3M’s global design organization, representing a vital competitive platform to enhance innovation and commercialization across 3M’s broad and diverse product portfolio. His role also encompasses application of collaborative creativity as an engagement model for academia, business and governmental organizations to incite change, propel innovation, and create value.
During his more than 20-year tenure at Philips, Quint held several senior-level positions in design, directing award-winning global teams across both business-to-business and business-to-consumer industries to drive strategic partnerships, alliances and brand licensing activities forward. His leadership has yielded numerous international design awards across Europe, Asia and the United States, including individual design awards. In addition, Quint is named inventor on U.S. patents related to breakthrough innovations in the personal skin care category of industrial design.
Quint studied industrial design at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands and holds a degree in mechanical/industrial engineering. He is a speaker and lecturer at international events for design, business, and academia on a variety of topics related to design thinking, innovation, branding and design management.
